As noted, Paul Heyman was at Caroline’s on Broadway earlier today to take part in a sit-down interview that also featured NXT announcer Corey Graves, Today correspondent Katie Linendoll, and host of Sam Roberts’ Show and Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Sam Roberts.
Heyman briefly discussed his pairing with Cesaro during the Q&A session of the show, saying it was a ‘catch-22’ situation for him and Cesaro. He says it was WWE who paired him with Cesaro to try and keep heat on Lesnar for breaking Undertaker’s streak after he went on hiatus.

Heyman says he did the “conquered the streak” promo over and over and it made Cesaro look like the other guy, almost a side attraction to himself. He says it looked bad for Cesaro on TV and he felt bad for him, but it actually got Cesaro noticed behind-the-scenes by Vince McMahon. He says he is not sure how much Vince noticed Cesaro before that, and for those four months they were together, Cesaro served his purpose well and excelled at it.
In another part of the interview, Heyman went and sat in the “Cesaro Section” saying this was where he belonged and it’s where good taste was demonstrated.
