Sting Kicks Off WWE Raw
Sting comes out and talks about kicking off WWE Raw. He is quickly interrupted by Stephanie McMahon. He talks about how she has had everything given to her. She says he is intimidated by the WWE. She calls him a minnow swimming in the ocean. She talks about her dad beating WCW and she admires his loyalty. She compares him to a dog but does not want to insult dogs. She tries to slap him, but he grabs her arm and out comes her husband.
Stephanie grabs a sledgehammer and Sting grabs his bat. Triple H looks at him and does not get into the ring so easily. He ends up walking away.
Great start and a segment like this to this type of crowd is really good. Sting gets his words out to the live crowd and the fans loved it. He was full of energy and captivated the crowd with every single word. I really think Triple H should have gotten the upper hand tonight, but WWE continues to tease him getting his hands on Sting. It all pays off on Sunday. They really didn’t need to do MUCH here, even though the fan in me wanting just a little more.
Stardust and Luke Harper vs. R-Truth and Dean Ambrose/ Dolph vs. Daniel
Harper and Ambrose really get the offense going with a neckbreaker and then all four men are in the ring. Stardust gets clothesline out of it and Harper gets tossed. The faces are in control as Raw goes to break.
Both teams get some good offense in and Ambrose clothesline Harper to the outside. Both men get back in and Ambrose hits a Tornado DDT. All men get into the ring and Ambrose hits a Suicide Dive. R-Truth hits his finisher for the win. Barrett has his title and circles around the ring.
Daniel Bryan loses to Dolph Ziggler in a match that was VERY safe. After the match, which was safe and not what I was hoping for, Dean Ambrose gets involved due to him being the special referee. All the participants come out and brawl in the ring.
An entertaining tag team match kicks off WWE Raw with four competitors for the IC Championship. R-Truth winning makes sense. He is the only one that NOBODY thinks has a shot, so a pinfall win over Stardust does not bother me much. I wish Barrett’s title was stolen again, especially since his title will be hung above. Maybe that happens later tonight.
As for Bryan/Ziggler, we know they were playing it very safe. Surprising, Ziggler pins Bryan AGAIN. Does this mean Dolph is the leading candidate? I think it means that Daniel Bryan is much more capable of winning on Sunday, but we shall see. All in all, I can make a solid case for 4 of the 7 guys to win.
