WWE Reacts Negatively to Big Upcoming NYC Legends Event
As noted, Citi Field in New York City will be hosting a big Legends of Wrestling event in June, featuring many notable names including Ric Flair, Bret Hart and Bill Goldberg.
According to PWInsider.com, a lot of online promotional material was pulled overnight, and it’s likely because someone in WWE sent a cease and desist letter. This was likely done because some of the names used in promotional material are owned by WWE.
WWE was said to be pretty shocked by news of the event, as Citi Field is a very large venue for a legends convention, and WWE was further upset with some of the legends appearing at the event and its proximity to SummerSlam, which is likely to be taking place in the NYC area.
SummerSlam Update
In related news, the latest word on this year’s SummerSlam venue is the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, but that has yet to be confirmed.
