9/4 WWE NXT Results
The commentary team for tonight is Tom Phillips, Renee Young and Byron Saxton. They open the show, putting over NXT Takeover 2 next week, live on the WWE Network.
(1) Charlotte def. Alexa Bliss in a non-title match. Bliss got a few spots in, including a nearfall roll-up, but Charlotte controlled most of it and won with her Bow Down to the Queen finisher.
With Charlotte still in the ring, Bayley comes down a bit more serious than usual. No wacky waiving inflatable arm-flailing tube-men. The #1 contender talks about beating Sasha Banks twice, and earning the champion’s respect. Charlotte shoves her down, but Bayley comes back with the belly-to-belly suplex, taking the champ to the floor. She holds the Women’s Championship high as Charlotte looks enraged.
In a pre-recorded segment, Tyler Breeze proclaims himself the next NXT Champion. He says nobody in the match is as gorgeous as him, and nobody matches him in the ring either.
Backstage, Sin Cara and Kalisto are hyped to face the Ascension at NXT Takeover 2 and become the new champions. Kalisto puts over the champs as a real threat and great competitors – yes, he actually talks!
