Former WWE, WCW and TNA writer Vince Russo was a guest on the family-friendly edition of The Steve Austin Show this week, and talked about everything from Captain Lou Alabana, to KISS, to revealing that he went to wrestling school!

About getting into wrestling as a young child:
"The first time I saw the business, that's what molded me for my 20 years in the business. I was sitting in the guest room of my house – I must have been about 12-years-old. We had the little 9-inch black-and-white TVs. You had to gimmick the antenna hoping something would come in. So I'm flipping around and all of a sudden I come across the Valiant Brothers and Captain Lou Albana. And when Jimmy Valiant cut that promo, and when Lou Albana went off- from that moment on, it was the entertainment for me. These guys were larger than life!"
Little known fact – Vince Russo went to wrestling school:
"If I was going to get into the wrestling business I really wanted to know everything about it. So I went to Johnny Rodz' school. I took the bumps, I did the independent shows – not because I had any desire to be a wrestler or a manager; I wanted to know how this thing worked … I had an absolute respect for it. When Johnny saw that he realized I was serious, and I wanted to know what I was talking about … This is the Vince Russo nobody wants to talk about, because I have to be the villain; I have to be the guy that gave David Arquette the world title. I can remember Johnny Rodz making me take flat-back after flat-back until I wanted to throw-up. But that was the respect I had for the business, and I wanted to know and be a part of it.
