The Rock has competed in some of the best Wrestlemania matches in the Attitude Era. Yes, we all remember his trilogy of matches against Stone Cold, but some of the other matches he was in really boosted his overall greatness. Rock faced Austin three times, was in a Fatal Four Way match at Wrestlemania 2000, and also looked into the eyes of the Iconic Hulk Hogan to give Toronto a classic pairing at Wrestlemania X-8. I have always enjoyed every part of his game inside and outside of the ring, and loved seeing him come back a few years ago. It was an average match in terms of wrestling, but his return netted the biggest profit for a Wrestlemania…EVER. Those numbers are hard to ignore. He passed the torch to John Cena a year ago and made another memorable moment. The Rock is all business and business has done him well in his entire career at WrestleMania.
Stone Cold Steve Austin
Even though his debut was under The Ringmaster at Wrestlemania 12, he turned that nothing into something. One year did SO much for his character, his career, and his ultimate legacy. Stone Cold began and ended his career at Wrestlemania. Over the years, he put on main event classics against Shawn Michaels, while Mike Tyson came into his world and shocked the universe. He had three excellent matches against The Rock, but this one match separated him from a few others further down on the list. At Wrestlemania 13, Bret Hart was facing off against the "Anti-Hero" star of Austin, while Hart was still beloved by many After the blood dripping down his skull, Austin and Hart left every drop of blood, every ounce of sweat, all on the mat. He is not merely a Wrestlemania superstar, he is a Wrestlemania legend. Thank him for Wrestlemania 13-18. Take out his forgettable feud with Scott Hall and show me a match where Austin was not what you talked about after the night was over.
