In the category of wrestler(s) of the year, awarding the individual or group for overall prowess in 2013. Daniel Bryan won by an absolute landslide, collecting 82 votes compared to The Shield (19) and CM Punk (15).
Much closer in the other two categories. In the vote for match of the year, CM Punk vs The Undertaker from Wrestlemania won out with 60 votes ahead of Punk’s match with Brock Lesnar from Summerslam, which took 47 votes. Punk’s epic with John Cena from Raw in the lead-up to Wrestlemania came third with 39 votes, and John Cena vs Daniel Bryan from Summerslam took 11 votes.
But with moment of the year we saved the closest for last. The New Jersey crowd from the Raw after Wrestlemania just nudged out Mark Henry’s “retirement” speech with 40 votes to 38. Dolph Ziggler’s Money in the Bank cash-in (from that same Raw after Mania) took 31 votes, whilst AJ Lee’s “Pipebomb” was a distant fourth with 13.
