The ring is decorated with AJ Styles gear and a 'Welcome Back' banner, and Dixie Carter comes out and says tonight is about a special person that they will celebrate. Dixie says she might have made a mistake recently, but she's here to make up for it, and she welcomes AJ to the ring. Dixie says this is all working out because she's just been motivating him to glory, and he was in a slump last year but she just wanted to help. Dixie says AJ wanted to make her pay, and she is here to pay up so she's getting him a private dressing room and lavish dinners and gifts. She motions to the side of the stage and says she got him a convertible, then she asks him to move on and everyone wants him on 'Team Dixie'. AJ says he isn't buying any of it, and she is going to wish it was this easy to pay up, and she could have done all of this months ago but she bet against him.
Dixie says he is just upset and she stepped out of line, and she says tonight's title rematch was premature, but he doesn't have to do it. She tells him to jet on her jet and they can leave, but all he has to do is be in agreement and they will cancel the match right now. Bully Ray cuts them off and says he won't have this, but AJ tells him to shut up because he's the champion, and Bully will get his shot. AJ says Dixie is dumb for thinking he will join her, and title matches apply to guys with contracts, but he still came here to fight. AJ says he'll defend his title and there's nothing they can do about it, then Bully says he should think of who he's facing because AJ got a lucky win. Bully says there's no way a kid like AJ could beat a man like him, and Bully blames referee Earl Hebner for missing a kick out because he's blind. He says he is tired of talking, so he is going to beat the piss out of him, pin him, and take his title back, then AJ can go back to his redneck life.
Bully says AJ is nothing in wrestling but he's a god, and AJ needs to worry about him, but AJ says Bully should worry about his own family. He says the Aces couldn't help him Sunday, and he will win tonight and celebrate with his title and his fans in the crowd. AJ says he'll ask Bully if he knows who he is, then Bully attacks him and sets up a powerbomb throught a table, but the lights go out. Ken Anderson makes his return and rushes to the ring, laughing in Bully's face before unloading on him with right hands to the head and stomach. Anderson connects with some mounted punches in the corner, then Bully finally gets free and backs up the ramp as Anderson plays to the crowd.
