Steve Austin Speaks w/ Scott Hall, Infamous Indy Event, Leaving DDP’s Home in Atlanta & More

Scott has a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, and talked candidly on how his demons crept up on him in the late ’80s.

“I was one of those guys who never really started drinking heavily until my late thirties – I was no angel before that, I just wasn’t drinking or taking pills. A lot of the business was done in bars at that time. You had to get to know your opponent and have some what of a relationship with them outside the ring, so you could produce a good product inside the ring … The guys I was hanging out with – the guys I looked up to – a lot of that was going on. So I ventured down that path as well.”

Hall and Austin also broke down an infamous incident at an independent event in Fall River, Mass where Scott appeared intoxicated, and had to be carried down to the ring to work against Justin Credible.

“I don’t know if it was multiple concussion syndrome … or whatever, I was having some brain deficit and epileptic seizures pretty regularly. I was on meds, but I had this trip coming up because P.J. Walker and Justin Credible was working there, and I was gonna go just to see my buddies. I had a seizure and fell in my home, and injured my hip – which was already shot – again. I limp into the hospital for the doctor to see my heart, and he asked if I needed something for the pain. I had some [Vicodin] and somas and some Xanax … Brother, when I got off that plane, I didn’t know what country I was in.”

The former NWO co-founder, who has been living with Diamond Dallas Page and Jake “The Snake” Roberts in Atlanta, is thinking about leaving the “accountability crib” to return home to Florida. However, they speak on why that’s probably not a good idea at this point.

“I have some property in central Florida that’s hard to sell; nobody really wants it. I’m looking at a situation to maybe live in Miami – spend a time in Orlando, and some time here in Atlanta. I don’t think being in that house will be that healthy for me … Probably not a good idea, because I’ve got twenty acres in the woods with a private  behind me with no neighbors. It’s easy for me to seclude myself, which I’ve learned from lots of therapy isn’t a good thing.”
