Bruno went off on internet fans and the speculation that he would have nothing to do with the WWE CEO and Chariman. “Absolute lies. I resent people writing these things when they have no idea what the heck they are talking about because there is no truth to it at all.” He actually seemed quite positive when reflecting on his past issues with McMahon, stating “I will criticize you if you deserve to be criticized, but I will praise you when that’s proper. He has made all these changes and I praise him for that. I have not talked to Vince. I have not seen him. But when the time comes, probably when I get there, I’m sure a meeting will be held. I will be glad to meet with him and have conversations with him.”
For now, Sammartino seems content to allow Triple H and the WWE to decide who inducts him into the Hall of Fame this April, but listed friends and rivals such as Dominic Denucci, Ivan Koloff, Bill Watts and Larry Zbyszko as people he would like to see do the job. He also mentioned that in his talks with Triple H, he requested a physical Hall of Fame building be constructed, and noted that it is definitely “down the road” but “in the works”.
