Brock Lesnar’s Former Enemy Shane Carwin Returning to UFC

Shane Carwin, "The 1st Round Terminator" who crushed 12 straight opponents in the 1st 3 minutes of the fight before running up against former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, has announced his return to the Octagon.

The 36 year old native of Colorado has agreed to make his return at UFC 131, which is expected to take place June 11th in Vancouver, British Columbia.

"No opponent has been mentioned,” Carwin wrote in a blog this afternoon, although Carwin did admit he was offered a chance at fighting TUF Season 10 Winner Roy Nelson at UFC 130 on May 28th.

After the Lesnar fight, the bad news continued for Carwin, as his name was reportedly included in a list of twenty two professional athletes who had received shipments in 2006 from J. Michael Bennett, an Alabama pharmacist convicted of participating in a nationwide anabolic steroid ring. Carwin has never tested positive for steroids or any banned substance in his entire MMA career.

Carwin was then scheduled to fight Roy Nelson at UFC 125 on New Year’s Day,  but withdrew from that bout due to intense back pain. Carwin then underwent what has been labeled successful surgery to relieve pressure from his C5, 6 and 7 vertebrae.
