Jakara Jackson Addresses Rumors About WWE Tag Team Title Run With Lash Legend

Mara Sadè is always rooting for Lash Legend.

On the April 29 episode of WWE NXT, Meta-Four’s Jakara Jackson, Lash Legend, Noam Dar and Oro Mensah made a mutual decision to go their separate ways. Since then, Legend has declared her interest in the NXT Women’s Championship. Dar has continued his reign as NXT Heritage Cup Champion. Meanwhile, Jackson and Mensah are now free agents following their respective releases from WWE.

In a new interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Jackson, now known as Mara Sadè, opened up about her hopes for Lash Legend, who is now in the midst of a singles run in WWE.

“I hope that it’s everything that she could ever want because she deserves it,” Sadè said. “Everybody’s seen our growth together, but just looking at her as an individual star, she’s come such a long way. I’m always going to be cheering and rooting for my sister, for real. We just had each other’s backs in there. I’m always going to have her back, whether we’re together or not. That’s something that will never change.”

Were Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend scheduled to have a WWE Tag Team Title run?

Sadè hopes “all the best” things happen for Lash, including a women’s title reign. On the latest edition of NXT, Legend and several others made it known that they’re after the NXT Women’s Championship. When they then began brawling with one another, Mariah May revealed herself as the newest member of the NXT women’s division.

During their run in NXT, Sadè and Legend regularly chased the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles, and received a shot at the TNA Knockouts titles. Jackson was asked if there were ever plans for her and Lash to win the WWE titles. This was at least discussed, according to a recent report from Fightful. Sadè didn’t go as far as saying anything was confirmed, but they at least thought it was going to happen.

“Of course, there are those times when you feel like it’s going to happen. But things change in the background constantly,” she explained. “One of the things that Bianca [Belair] told me was you never know up until you walk out when you hear that entrance music. Anything can change up until that point. So I’m going to say, there were times we definitely thought [we were winning], but things change all the time.”

Sadè shares her approach to free agency

Now that she is striking out on her own, Sadè used the past 30 days to “get [her] ducks in a row.” She focused on working hard and getting everything ready, waiting for what’s next.

“This is a whole rebrand for me. It’s exciting to be honest,” she explained. “I’m really happy to be doing whatever the hell it is on my plate that I’m going to be doing. Just a lot of stuff, a lot of things in the past 30 days.”
