This was a good, quick opening segment with a fun brawl. Can’t ask for more here.

Chase U (Andre Chase, Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors) vs. DarkState

DarkState quickly hits their finish on Dixon for the win.

Winners- DarkState

Grade: C

Standard squash match. DarkState would look way more impressive if they weren’t beating up Chase U.

Rounds match: Charlie Dempsey w/Wren Sinclair vs. Myles Borne w/Tavion Heights (If Borne wins, he can leave the No Quarter Catch Crew)

Round 1:

After trading submission attempts, round one ends with Borne getting the first fall with a roll-up.

Dempsey-0 | Borne-1

Round 2:

Most of this round took place during the break. The round ends with no decision. Dempsey decks Borne after the bell rings.

Dempsey-0 | Borne-1

Dempsey-1 | Borne-2

Winner- Myles Borne

Grade: B-

Rounds matches are an acquired taste. The match was fine, but this was a lot to go through to move Borne away from NQCC. You’d figure DarkState would be the group in NXT that you would have rto get jumped out of, not NQCC.

Tyra Mae Steele vs. Arianna Grace

Steele single-legs Grace and sends her to the mat. Steele grabs a knee bar. Grace gets to the ropes. Grace grabs a front face lock. Steele suplexes Grace clear across the ring. Grace trips Steele into the corner and lands a few strikes. Grace slaps Steele. Steele smiles and levels Grace with a clothesline. Tossing DVD by Steele. Steele lands a German suplex for the win.

Winner- Tyra Mae Steele

Grade: B

Solid debut. Steele showed fire and a vicious streak. Not sure about the German Suplex finish. It was devastating but basic in the way of finishes.

New Women’s Champion

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne stands tall with the rest of Fatal Influence. The crowd cheers. Jayne tells the NXT Universe to save it since they never supported her to begin with. Jayne gloats over her title win. Lainey Reid hops the barricade and says she isn’t waiting her turn since Jayne is the most beatable woman of all time. Lola Vice is out next. She wants the title. Jordynne Grace follows. Jaida Parker walks out next, followed by Kelani Jordan.

Then, Lash Legend. It may be easier to name who isn’t out here right now. Thea Hail hops the barricade and attacks Parker, kicking off a brawl outside the ring. The Lights go out, and a spotlight shines on the bird’s nest. It’s Mariah May! May announces that she is finally here and that she will be the next NXT Women’s Champion. The best Women’s Division in the world just got glamorous.

Grade: C+

NXT overuses these segments worse than any other brand. Champion in the ring, 57685 challengers come out and want a shot, with a shocking reveal of a new challenger at the end. This is old hat that needs to end. That said, Mariah May got a heck of a pop from the NXT crowd. Even money says she ends up winning the championship, but what do you all think? Let us know in the comments!

Sean Legacy, Dragon Lee, Laredo Kid, and Je’Von Evans vs. Ethan Page and The Vanity Project

Lee and Kid double team Drake. Page breaks up the pin. Evans and Legacy take turns landing high-flying moves. Legacy gets driven into the corner. Page and The Vanity Project beat down Legacy. Legacy lands a dive. Evans and Lee follow suit. Kid sets up a dive and gets his head booted off by Page. After the break, Page and Co. are working on Evans. Evans manages to tag in Lee. Lee clears the ring. Lee crushes Baylor with a tree of woe double stomp. Destino by Lee. Lee pins Baylor.

Winners- Sean Legacy, Dragon Lee, Laredo Kid, and Je’Von Evans

Grade: B

This one went a mile a minute in the best way possible. All of the new faces in this one handled themselves well. This writer hasn’t had the opportunity to watch much WWE Evolve, but after this, it’s hard not to be interested in the Evolve Championship match that’s coming up between Legacy and Drake. Page standing next to The Vanity Project works. WWE may want to think about pairing them together moving forward. It would be a great way to bring them along.

TNA World Championship Match: Trick Williams vs. Mike Santana

TNA’s Elijah is in the crowd watching the match. Elijah will face the winner of this match. Williams lands a flurry. Santana shrugs it off and beats Williams down in the corner. Modified facebuster by Santana. Williams kicks out. The NXT Universe is going nuts for Santana. Williams lands a suplex followed by a leaping neckbreaker. Santana kicks out. After the break, Williams is working over Santana. Santana fires up but gets dropped on the top turnbuckle. Trick Kick by Williams. Santana kicks out! Williams and Santana trade kicks. Williams tries a leapfrog, but Santana plucks Williams out of the air and lands a thunderous Death Valley Driver. Santana and Williams both struggle to get to their feet. Santana lands a back roll cutter. Williams kicks at two.

Cannonball by Santana. Williams kicks out again! 450 Splash by Santana. Williams gets one finger on the rope to break the pin! Santana is livid. The crowd cheers as Santana calls for his finish. Williams rolls out of the ring. Williams grabs Elijah’s guitar and smashes it. Elijah hops the barricade. The referee holds Elijah back. AJ Francis and KC Navarro hop the barricade and attack Santana. Francis chokeslams Santana on the commentary desk and tosses him back into the ring. Williams lands a Trick Shot to the back of Santana’s head. Williams follows that with another Trick Shot to the face for the win.

Winner and STILL TNA World Champion, Trick Williams!

After the match, Williams, Navarro, and Francis celebrate.

Grade: B

Santana is building on a great debut last week with another solid outing here against Williams. Both men treated this first encounter like the blow-off to a long feud, so it will be very interesting to see what happens next between them. Santana is most likely the man to take the title from Williams, but there is no reason that needs to be right now. The TNA fans already hate Williams, so why not give them more reasons to pair him with Francis and Navarro? This is getting good. What do you think about Williams holding on to the TNA Championship? Let us know in the comments!
