Fan Pitches the Perfect Actor for a Jim Ross Biopic

One fan has a real slobberknocker of a casting choice for a Jim Ross movie.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is one of the greatest commentators of all time. Good Ol’ JR is currently one of the lead commentators in All Elite Wrestling. Recently, a fan took to Twitter/X to pitch the idea of who should play the role of Ross, if someone chose to make a biopic about the professional wrestling legend.

The actor that the fan chose was none other than Eric Stonestreet, who is well-known for his role as Cameron Tucker in the hit television series Modern Family.

Recently, the first look of Eric Stonestreet’s character in the Dexter spinoff show Dexter: Resurrection was revealed. Upon seeing his different look from the show, a fan was convinced that the Modern Family star would be the perfect fit to portray Ross.

“If they ever do a Jim Ross biopic, this is the guy,” @RunTheGhouls tweeted.

Jim Ross’ last commentary appearance for AEW came at the Dynasty pay-per-view in April. He previously commented on his contract status and believed his current deal expires in August. However, he hopes to return to AEW.

Ross announced he had been diagnosed with colon cancer in May. He was optimistic about his battle ahead and had surgery to hopefully remove all of the cancer on May 27.

Ross did not share any more details about his status at the time of his initial announcement. It is still unclear how long Ross will be away from AEW after surgery.

Do you think Eric Stonestreet could pull off the Jim Ross character?
