Ricky Saints Competes In His First NXT Singles Match

Ricky Saints competed in his first singles match since he joined WWE NXT.

On the March 18th episode of WWE NXT, Ricky Starks competed in his first singles match as a member of NXT. He faced Ridge Holland, and they battled back and forth. Holland overpowered Saints throughout the bout. In the end, Saints rallied and slammed Holland for the win.

Here’s how the match broke down, courtesy of our play-by-play:

After a lockup and struggle, Holland clubs the Saints‘ back. Saints fires up and lands a few punches. Saints escapes a slam and lands a beautiful dropkick. Holland feigns an injury and, in the confusion, lands a cheap shot. Holland works over Saints. Saints tries to fire up, but Holland cuts him off and lands a modified backbreaker. Saints rolls out of the ring. Holland drives Saints’ back into the ring apron. Holland continues his assault. Saints fires up and lands a tornado DDT. Saints hit a short version of the Rochambeau for the win.

Saints previously debuted on the February 11th episode of WWE NXT, where he appeared in the crowd. He signed his contract the following week, and he competed in his first match on the February 25th episode of NXT. There, Saints teamed up with Je’Von Evans to defeat Wes Lee and Ethan Page.
