By winning the 2024 Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Mariah May earned a shot at Toni Storm’s AEW Women’s World Championship at All In. May then turned on ‘Timeless’ Toni Stor and brutally attacked her. Since then, May’s feud with the AEW Women’s World Champion has continued to heat up.
While speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Mariah May claimed that her AEW Women’s World Championship match will be a cinematic masterpiece, and she’ll end Storm’s reign.
“It’s going to be a cinematic masterpiece,” May said. “I’ve already taken Toni from black-and-white into Technicolor. Wembley is her curtain call and a new start for me.”
May also stated that she always loved watching black-and-white movies, so the storyline with Storm was especially appealing to her.
“I was a bit of a black-and-white film nerd growing up, especially as a teenager, so I knew all about it. I love theater, and I became obsessed with old black-and-white movies. I’d wake up, have a cup of tea, and watch. So it felt like a completely normal idea to me–it tied into my life.
“I wanted to draw from it, but never copy it black and white, no pun intended. I wanted to bring Mariah May into the story, that glamour. And I don’t remember anyone getting beat by a shoe like I did to Toni.”
May then claimed a new era will begin at AEW All In.
“This is all about me,” Mariah May said. “A whole new era is about to begin.”
Can Mariah May dethrone Toni Storm?
