Booker T has high praise for Bron Breakker and Gunther after Summerslam.
Bron Breakker won his first main roster title at the event in Cleveland last week. After losing to Sami Zayn at Money in the Bank, he avenged his loss in style. Breakker beat Zayn in five minutes to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship in dominant fashion.
Meanwhile, Gunther went one better. With an assist from Finn Balor, he beat Damian Priest to win the World Heavyweight Championship. It is his first world title in the WWE, and is bound to be the start of an iconic title reign for the Austrian.
One man who was watching on with glee was Booker T. He sees big things in these two wrestlers, and is not shy in talking about his view. Considering he’s seen both men come through NXT, with his role as a commentator on the brand, he knows exactly what fans are getting with Bron Breakker and Gunther.
Booker T spoke on his Hall of Fame podcast (H/T to WrestlingInc) about Bron Breakker and Gunther. He noted that he thinks they are “the future of the business, following Summerslam.
Booker T added that he loves where the business is going, especially with what the pair are doing in the WWE right now.
“I feel like both of those guys, they’re the future of the business.” Booker T said. “They’re the guys that’s going to take us into this next wave and really, really put WWE in that position to where so many young people are going to want to be a part of this millennial thing going on right now. So many guys and girls that’s trying to get into this business right now … I’m loving where the business is going right now, Bron and Gunther is at the forefront.”
