CM Punk Shares The Secret To Getting Paid More Money

CM Punk revealed his secret to making more money – action figures!

At San Diego Comic Con this week, Mattel unveiled their latest CM Punk action figure. This figure portrays Punk during Money in the Bank 2011. This was the famous match where he beat John Cena for the WWE Championship, before leaving the arena with the belt as his contract expired.

This is one of his most famous looks and it has been immortalized in action figure form once again. As it turns out, this is his secret to making more money as a professional wrestler.

CM Punk spoke with Tom Sanford of Ringside Collectibles about his latest action figure. He joked that the secret to making money in wrestling is to constantly change your look, to have more action figures made.

Punk noted that he’s always planning to get new tattoos, which ends up being a problem for Mattel. Not only does the company have to make new action figures, but they are pretty accurate at including the tattoos they can use.

“It’s always cool because I know I’m a figure maker’s nightmare. I have all these tattoos, some of which you can’t actually put on toys. I’m always planning on getting new tattoos and stuff like that, so they have to make new toys of me. That’s the secret, ladies and gentlemen,” CM Punk stated. “That’s how you get paid more money. They have to constantly make new figures: new gear, new hair, new look, your arm in a sling, whatever it takes.”

CM Punk: Never Say Never About Leading A Faction Again

CM Punk was also asked about his role in leading the New Nexus. He also spoke about potentially leading another faction in the near future.

The former WWE Champion refused to rule out the possibility. However, he doesn’t see it happening in the foreseeable future, although if a great idea came along he would definitely consider it.

“I’m not going to say no because you never say never. I don’t see it happening in the foreseeable future, but you never know what’s going to happen. That’s the cool thing about where we’re at as a company right now. Creatively speaking, this is the most fruitful creative locker room that I think I’ve ever been in, where ideas aren’t ignored and shot down. People are eager to share ideas. Somebody someday could have a brilliant idea, something that I have blinders on and can’t see, and I would be receptive to any of the ideas as long as they’re good.”
