Report: WWE Used ‘High-Powered’ Immigration Law Firm To Get Jacob Fatu Cleared To Enter Canada

Jacob Fatu competed at WWE Money in the Bank in Toronto. Ahead of the show, the company had to navigate some hurdles to make it happen.

At WWE Money in the Bank, Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa, and Tama Tonga faced Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton. On the pre-show, Michael Cole noted that WWE and Triple H had to get involved with Canadian authorities so that Fatu could enter Canada.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported an update. He noted that WWE used a “high-powered” immigration law firm to get Jacob Fatu cleared to enter Canada.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) previously reported that, per MLW sources, Jacob Fatu’s criminal record was the reason that he had accepted wrestling bookings outside of the United States. Sapp wrote that Fatu’s history was a reason why he had not been hired by WWE. However, sources said that the new regime had been interested in bringing him in for quite some time.

Fatu made his WWE debut on the June 21 episode of WWE SmackDown. There, he attacked Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and joined The Bloodline. He has been featured on WWE programming ever since. The Bloodline is set to appear on the July 12 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Triple H called Jacob Fatu a “game-changer” after his debut. Check out his comments here.
