Darby Allin did what he set out to do in helping Sting win his retirement match, and is now ready to take a break for another challenging task.
During tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Allin took to the ring to speak following his now-infamous participation in Sting’s retirement match. Allin said that his goal was always to make sure Sting went out on top, and he felt he did that.
Now, Allin said, he’ll have one more match against Jay White next week before embarking on a journey to climb Mt. Everest, something that he acknowledged he might not come back from ever.
Should he not, Allin said he wanted to thank the world of AEW for their support and love, and proceeded to vacate the AEW Tag Team Championships, saying he couldn’t replace Sting if he tried and wishing the next champions good luck. Shortly after, Bullet Club Gold interrupted, and Allin and White had a bit of a back and forth ahead of their match next week.
