Pat McAfee would not have picked Roman Reigns if he had won the Royal Rumble. Instead, he would have targeted Seth Rollins.
Pat McAfee returned at WWE Royal Rumble, as he joined the commentary team. He was later announced as a surprise entrant in the Men’s Royal Rumble. However, he eliminated himself after he was in the match for 38 seconds.
Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, the former SmackDown commentator commented on who he would have picked if he won the Royal Rumble match. He explained why he would have chosen Seth Rollins. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)
“A lot of people just assume I would go right at the big Uce, Roman Reigns. Nope. Seth F–kin Rollins, I’m coming at you pal,” Pat McAfee said. “I don’t want to dance with Roman, and Seth has a knee (injury). By the way, (I) don’t deserve the opportunity, don’t desire the opportunity. Would love to watch everything that takes place. You pick Seth because of the knee thing, but Cody wants to finish the Universal (Title) story.”
McAfee has also said that he did not get a heads-up about competing in the Royal Rumble. Check out his comments here.
As of this writing, it is not known when Pat McAfee will return to WWE programming. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
