Steve Austin looks forward to seeing what lay ahead for Cody Rhodes.
Much like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin did before him, Cody Rhodes now finds himself on the cover of a WWE 2K video game. Rhodes also finds himself at the top of the WWE landscape — the same position that Austin held during his run in the Attitude Era. During an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Austin shared his excitement for Rhodes’ future, revealing that he recently saw “The American Nightmare” at the shoot for the WWE 2K24 video game.
“I visited with Cody Rhodes [during the 2K video shoot],” Austin said. “I’ve followed his career since day one. To see the journey he’s been on, to see him on top of the world right now, it’s great to see him enjoying the ride with a clear mind and so much momentum. He works so hard. And look at his journey. He left WWE to come back to WWE to headline. He’s in his prime, and I can’t wait to see what he does next.”
As Rhodes continues to soak in the glory of his WWE 2K24 cover spot, he also continues his pursuit of the WWE Championship, a title currently held by Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. After falling short in the main event of WrestleMania 39, Rhodes has an opportunity to put himself back in contention as he competes in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match. To “finish the story,” though, Rhodes must first outlast 29 other men, again.
