The Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will begin on the January 9 episode of WWE NXT.
On the special “New Year’s Evil” episode of NXT, Ava announced that the tag team tournament would begin the following week. The winner of the tournament will earn a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship. Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo currently hold the gold.
Later in the show, Baron Corbin pitched Bron Breakker the idea of the duo joining forces for the competition, and Breakker accepted.
Plus, Nathan Frazer and Axiom agreed to team up in the tournament. They were confronted by Malik Blade and Edris Enofe, who were seemingly announced for the competition.
The Creed Brothers won the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. MSK won the tournament in 2021.
