Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler, is returning to the wrestling world.
WWE released Nemeth in a wave of cuts on September 21. He had been with the company since 2004, when he signed a developmental contract. Ziggler had a successful run in WWE, as he won the World Heavyweight Championship twice and the Intercontinental Championship six times, among other accolades. Since his release, his future in the wrestling world has been unclear, but now he is set to return to the ring.
Lucha Libre Online shared a clip in which Nemeth issued a challenge to WWC star Ray Gonzalez.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it doesn’t get any bigger than this,” Nemeth said. “That’s right, WWC, Euphoria, Puerto Rico, baby. The most wanted man in professional wrestling today, the hottest free agent, and I am laying it down, baby.
“I am laying down a challenge in Puerto Rico for Mr. Rating, Ray Gonzalez. You think you can set foot in the ring either me and go toe-to-toe with the best damn thing going today? January 20, WWC Euphoria, Mr. Rating, the most wanted man in the game is coming for you if you got the guts.”
Per Lucha Libre Online, WWC will hold Euphoria on Saturday, January 20. The event will emanate from Pepín Cestero in Bayamón. The post noted that Nemeth’s challenge has not officially been accepted yet.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
