Trick Williams has earned a shot at the gold.
At NXT Deadline, Trick Williams faced Dijak, Josh Briggs, Tyler Bate, and Bron Breakker in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match. Dijak and Briggs started the match, and Dijak scored the first pin. Tyler Bate entered the match, and Briggs went on to pin Dijak. Bate pinned Dijak as well as the competition started to heat up.
Trick Williams entered the bout, but Bate later pinned him to take the lead. Breakker, a former NXT Champion, instantly took control when he entered the match. He scored three points within 46 seconds with a series of vicious Spears.
Williams made his own highlight by diving onto his opponents at ringside, but Dijak pinned him shortly thereafter. Bate scored another pin before Diajak and Briggs both got a pin following a double moonsault.
Breakker briefly gained the upper hand by Spearing Williams through a barricade, but Dijak slammed him through the broadcast table. Williams pinned Briggs, and Diajk tried to rally, but Eddy Thorpe interfered and attacked him Williams pinned Dijak, and the match was tied at three points each in the last few seconds. Moments before the time limit expired, Williams scored the winning pinfall.
With the win, Williams earned a shot at the NXT Championship, which is currently held by Ilja Dragunov. Williams will challenge for the gold at NXT New Year’s Evil on January 2.
