WWE is reportedly interested in Nick Aldis.
The former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion left NWA and entered free agency in January 2023. He then reached a shot-term agreement with IMPACT Wrestling, and he made his return to the promotion at IMPACT Rebellion in April. Aldis unsuccessfully challenged for the world title at IMPACT Slammiversary, and PWInsider reported that he wrapped up with the company after the TV tapings the following day.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that, per multiple WWE sources, there is “high interest” in Aldis, and he has been internally discussed a potential producer. Per Johnson, these sources noted that Aldis may go through a trial period as a producer as soon as next month. Johnson also wrote that Aldis is 100% a free agent as of this writing.
WWE was rumored to be interested in Aldis at the beginning of 2023, following his exit from the NWA. A reported hiring freeze may be responsible for the lack of any movement in bringing Aldis on-board prior to his agreement with IMPACT.
