Mustafa Ali wants the gold.
In recent weeks, Mustafa Ali has been making the most of his status as a free agent, as he has become a featured member of the NXT roster. Upon his arrival on the brand, he quickly set his sights on Wes Lee’s NXT North American Championship.
Ali was the special guest referee for Lee’s title match against Tyler Bate on the June 20 episode of WWE NXT, and he somewhat cost the challenger the match. As a result, Ali faced Bate on the July 4 episode of WWE NXT and scored a hard-fought win over the former NXT UK Champion.
After the bell, Lee spoke to the camera and challenged Lee to a title match at NXT North American Bash on July 30.
As of this writing, WWE has yet to confirm the match for NXT Great American Bash. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
