Drew McIntyre and Sheamus will clash in a high-profile singles match on the March 17 episode of WWE SmackDown.
On the March 10 episode, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, LA Knight, Xavier Woods, and Karrion Kross clashed in a five-way match, where the winner would earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 39. The match failed to produce a decisive contender, as both Sheamus and McIntyre emerged victorious. Sheamus and McIntyre hit their finishers on LA Knight and Xavier Woods, and both subsequent pins were counted.
WWE official Adam Pearce later booked a singles match between Sheamus and McIntyre for the March 17 episode, and the winner will clinch a title bout against Gunther at WrestleMania 39.
