Kevin Owens provides an update on his WWE contract and comments on his future.
Owens has been a featured member of WWE’s main roster since he debuted in 2015. In 2022, he has had a particularly memorable year, as he faced Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38. All along the way, he has been a part of a number of unforgettable moments, including his storyline with Chris Jericho in 2017.
Speaking to Peter Rosenburg on Cheap Heat, Owens discussed his time in WWE and made it clear that he’s thankful for the experiences he has had. Owens brought up his contract and noted that he has two years left on it. The former WWE Universal Champion then stated that he doesn’t see any reason why he wouldn’t sign another one because he doesn’t feel like he’s done yet.
“When I look back on my career in WWE, I’m honestly in awe of the things I’ve gotten to do, the stuff I’ve experienced, the people I’ve gotten to work with. So now, I have two more years left on my current contract, and I don’t see a reason any I wouldn’t sign another one when it’s done because I don’t feel like I’m anywhere near done. But who knows what could happen, right? At this stage in my career, I really want to have fun and make sure I’m still putting up memorable stuff for people.
“But man, I look back at the career I’ve had, and if it all ended tomorrow, it would be have any kind of regret because I’ve really done some incredible stuff and I’ve been very lucky to do what I’ve done. Every other show, every other thing I get to experience is a bonus because I’m not really sure how I can have a better career than I’ve had already. That’s not me patting myself on the back. I’m just saying I’ve been very fortunate.”
Owens will team up with John Cena to face Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn on the December 30 episode of WWE SmackDown.
