Jade Cargill likes grabbing the attention of “the outside”, people who might not actively watch wrestling but interact with it in other ways.
Speaking with The Breakfast Club on 105.1 FM, Cargill was asked to share her thoughts on celebrities getting involved in wrestling. The reigning AEW TBS Champion referenced her playful feud with Bow Wow and noted that situations like that help the industry;. Cargill also noted that she aims on reaching the “outside” wrestling fan, rather than the standard fanbase.
“I think it helps because it brings more awareness,” Cargill said. “Like Bow Wow right now, him trying to get I guess his little notoriety, whatever he’s trying to get, it’s helping out the industry a little bit. This is what I like. People can look at that and be like, who the hell is this woman? Guess what they’re gonna do? They’re gonna go and look at that wrestling clip and see what I can do.
“That’s what I like. My fashion, and want I do, maybe I don’t spark that wrestling fan. But I’m here to spark that wrestling fan’s girlfriend who thinks I look damn good. She’s like, ‘Damn, what does she do? Damn, her body looks great. Let me see what she does. What’s her workout regimen?’ That’s me. I want to engage the outside, not the normal wrestling fanbase. That’s what I’m here for.”
At AEW Full Gear, Cargill will aim to continue her undefeated streak in singles competition when she defends the TBS Championship against Nyla Rose.
