Tony Khan has plenty he can talk about, but MJF is not one of those things.
MJF’s status with AEW has been a hot topic this weekend, as he reportedly failed to show for a scheduled meet-and-greet and had not been spotted backstage until moments before his match with Wardlow. Tony Khan was asked about MJF during his Double Or Nothing post-show media scrum, but said he would not comment on that matter.
“I’m not going to comment on that, but I’ve got a lot of stuff on the pay-per-view I can comment on,” Khan stated. “But I’m not going to comment on that.”
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, MJF responded to his request for comment and said that he showed up shortly before his match and departed immediately after, noting that he “has a lot to think about.” Sapp noted that he had not verified this with anyone in attendance or if it was a planned move with AEW’s knowledge.
MJF worked the opening match of AEW Double Or Nothing against Wardlow, and lost after taking ten powerbombs. To further play up the angle, MJF was stretchered out of the arena.
