Deonna Purrazzo is excited for the freedom that Mia Yim will feel in IMPACT Wrestling.
At IMPACT Under Siege, Mia Yim returned to IMPACT, marking her first big wrestling return since her WWE release in 2021. Someone who knows all about utilizing the platform that IMPACT provides to recover and rise to greater heights following a WWE release is Deonna Purrazzo. For the last two years, IMPACT has been the home of Purrazzo and she has experienced great success and even headlined a pay-per-view earlier this year with Mickie James.

Now, speaking to Bodyslam, Deonna expressed her excitement for Mia to bring an authentic presentation of herself to IMPACT and experience true freedom.
“I think also what’s exciting because she’s been to IMPACT before you get to see that evolution of The ‘Dollhouse’ and ‘Jade’. Then she kind of was Mia Yim but we’ve gotten to see this evolution with her,” Deonna said. “Now, her debut, her music, what she was wearing is her true, authentic self. That is Mia Yim. So, I’m excited for her. Because when you get to be yourself and you’re having fun with it — I think that what’s great about people returning to IMPACT always is you get to see their evolution.
“Jade was a version of Mia in The Dollhouse that we got to see. But wasn’t her authentic self,” Deonna continued. “When she became this HBIC now you know, her hair, what she’s wearing, her entrance music and the little characters that came with her with the neon faces, that is Mia. That is her true authentic self. So I think that this version of her and whatever it’s going to be is going to be probably the best time of her career because she gets to just be herself and I feel like when you get that opportunity and people just believe in who you are, you do your best work. That’s kind of the situation I have been in over the last few years is them being like, ‘Go out there and be yourself and be who you think ‘The Virtuosa’ is and we’ll go from there,’ and it’s allowed me to flourish, be so successful, and be so satisfied that I really do think this version of Mia Yim is going to bring her the most satisfaction she’s had thus far.”
Mia Yim reportedly signed a six-month agreement with the promotion. Learn more here.
