WWE NXT producer Brian Kendrick is no longer under contract with WWE, according to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select.
Kendrick — who had reportedly requested his release in December — had not been informed of a release, but he has since been told that he is free to move to other companies. According to Fightful’s report, Kendrick is expected to be on hand at AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, February 2, in Chicago.
Update: AEW announced on Tuesday that Kendrick will make his AEW debut on the February 2 episode of AEW Dynamite; he’ll face Jon Moxley in a singles bout.

Kendrick has not wrestled for WWE since October 2020, where he teamed with Mansoor to defeat Ever-Rise’s Chase Parker & Matt Martel (aka AEW’s 2point0). The veteran was scheduled to make his return to the ring against Harland on NXT 2.0 on December 28, but the match never happened despite it being set up with an attack angle.
During his time with WWE, Kendrick held the Cruiserweight Championship, and he held tag team championships twice.
