Sasha Banks seemingly suffered an injury at a WWE live event on January 2.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that, during a match with Charlotte Flair at a WWE house show in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Banks apparently hurt her leg or her knee.
Per Johnson, Banks landed awkwardly on her leg after an over-the-knee backbreaker, and she stayed down. The match quickly wrapped up, and WWE officials subsequently helped her to the back. There’s currently no word on the extent of Banks’ injury.

Any injury to Banks would be a blow to WWE’s roster, given the way the ongoing COVID-19 surge continues to test the company’s depth. As a WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion, “The Boss” is one of the company’s top stars.
Update: in a tweet later on Sunday, Banks stated that she’s “good” and thanked her fans for their support.
I’m good ??
Thank you for the love always. ?— Mercedes Moné Varnado (@MercedesVarnado) January 3, 2022
