Jade Cargill took down Thunder Rosa on the December 29 episode of AEW Dynamite; in the AEW TBS Women’s Championship Tournament semi-finals, she used the surprising assistance of the newest member of All Elite Wrestling, Mercedes Martinez, to win the bout.
During their match, Cargill looked ready to fail in her attempt to advance to the finals of the AEW TBS Women’s Championship Tournament. However, a masked woman came out of the crowd and down to the ring, where she proceeded to smash a bottle over Thunder Rosa’s face. Rosa dropped down to the ground and was promptly pinned by Cargill to end the match.
?It's the legendary @RealMMartinez under that mask!!!

Following the match, the masked figure once again helped out Cargill, saving her from an assault at the hands of Rosa before unmasking herself to reveal none other than Mercedes Martinez. The former WWE Superstar proceeded to assault Rosa, before Cargill stepped in to help along with the ambush. The two continued to beat down Rosa until Ruby Soho — who Cargill will face next week in the TBS Title Tournament finals — came running down into the ring with a pipe to end the villainous assault.
Almost immediately after the match, Tony Khan took to Twitter to confirm that Martinez was officially a member of All Elite Wrestling. The superstar has over 20 years of experience, and she made some appearances for GCW and IMPACT Wrestling following her WWE release in August. Prior to that, her AEW debut came at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view in 2019, where she appeared as the “Joker” in the second Casino Battle Royale.
