Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb faced off in the AEW TBS Championship Tournament on Wednesday, and after a hard-fought affair, Shida emerged victorious. This triumph marked her fiftieth win in AEW, and she’s the first woman to accomplish that honor.
In a tough match between two top competitors. Shida that did just enough to win the bout. Late in the match, Shida avoided Deeb’s attempt Deeb at hitting her with her own trophy, and also an eye poke that nearly turned the momentum.
In the end, though, Shida and Deeb began to trade pin attempts after the two fought to a stalemate, and Shida ultimately held Deeb down for the three count.

After the bout, Deeb brutally beat Shida down, and the broadcast team emphasized that the former champion subsequently won’t be at 100% as the tournament continues. Regardless, Shida has advanced to the second round of the tournament, where she’ll face off against Nyla Rose, who earned a bye in the first round.
