Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne aimed for Toxic Attraction to gain some NXT gold in the infancy of the faction’s development, but Io Shirai and Zoey Stark had other plans. Mandy Rose was ringside as Dolin and Jayne went back and forth with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions on the 9/28 episode of WWE NXT 2.0.
Momentum shifted in what was an evenly matched bout, but Rose oet involved by putting Dolin’s leg on the ropes while she was locked in a crossface. Dolin followed that up with a picture perfect German suplex that caused a “This is awesome” chant.
The finish came when Shirai lived up to her “genius of the sky” moniker by nailing a crisp moonsault on Jayne for the pinfall.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Io Shirai and Zoey Stark (c) vs. Toxic Attraction
Shirai beats down but Dolan and Jayne. Stark tags in floors Jayne with a clothesline. Stark goes for a pin. Jayne turns it into a small package. Stark and Jayne take turns reversing the pin. Stark lands an Arabian Press for a near fall. Dolan gets a blind tag and surprises Stark with a PK. Stark and Shirai land stereo springboard dropkick. Shirai tries a dive but Dolan cuts her off. Stark dives off the apron and takes out Jayne. Dolan catches Stark with a senton off the top. Shirai crushes Dolan and Jayne with a moonsault.
After the break, Stark almost hits a phoenix splash but Jayne moves out of the way. Stark lands on her feet. Jayne hits a neck breaker. Both women tag out. Shirai flapjacks Dolan before hitting a Tiger Feint kick. Shirai hits a springboard dropkick for a near fall. Shirai puts Dolan and Jayne in a crossface at the same time. Dolan hits a Tiger suplex. Stark kicks out. Stark surprises Jayne with her modified GTS. Shirai hits the Over the Moonsault for the win.
Winners and STILL NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, Io Shirai and Zoey Stark!
Even with this loss, Toxic Attraction appears to have its sight set on another title. Earlier in the show, Rose interrupted NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez during a backstage interview and stated that the belt would look a lot better on her.
