The latest overnight ratings numbers are in for WWE Friday Night SmackDown. This week’s episode once again saw the network television staple come back with under 2 million viewers despite a rise in viewership and a historic episode.
According to SpoilerTV, this week’s WWE SmackDown viewership came back with 1.926 million viewers, up from the 1.853 million viewers the show pulled last week. As far as demographics go, the 18-49 demographics, this week’s 0.5 rating saw SmackDown nab the top spot.
This week, WWE hosted the first Hell in a Cell match on an episode of SmackDown. Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio decided not to wait for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view and they had their fight for the WWE Universal Championship on Smackdown where Roman Reigns once again at Sarah his dominance against a very game Rey Mysterio, making the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion tap with a cravat guillotine.
Elsewhere, Bianca Belair and Bayley agreed that they would take their rivalry to new levels inside the Hell in a Cell structure on Sunday, June 20. Also, it was confirmed that Kevin Owens will face Sami Zayn and Cesaro will once again face Seth Rollins at WWE Hell in a Cell as well.

Update: Wrestlenomics‘s Brandon Thurston has provided updated viewership numbers for the show. He reports that the show broke the two million threshold for the first time since May, as 2,040,000 viewers watched the show on Friday.
