Hikaru Shida is proud of who she is and won’t let what anyone says about her slow her down.
Hikaru Shida posted the following remarks in response to AEW Spanish announcer Willie Urbina mocking her during last week’s AEW Dynamite broadcast.
I didn’t wanna talk about this before my big day, so let me tell you now.
I don’t give a shit what other people say about my race because I love it and I proud of it, and because I know which is fool. I don’t even feel anger.
So don’t need to worry about me [Smiling face with smiling eyes emoji] Thank you.
Shida also posted a statement written in Japanese and directly referred to Urbina as the “fired Spanish commentator.”
Urbina was caught on a hot mic mocking Asian accents during an exchange after Shida’s title anniversary ceremony on Friday night. Alex Abrahantes asked for a translation of Shida’s promo, and Urbina proceeded to do an insulting impression of Asian accents. He was ultimately fired by All Elite Wrestling on Saturday for his actions.
Tony Khan addressed Urbina’s actions during his Double Or Nothing post-show scrum on Sunday night, explaining that he “didn’t think there was any excuse” for what Urbina did, and he was not happy about it at all. After speaking to the other commentators involved (Abrahantes, Thunder Rosa and Dasha Kuret were on commentary and asked him to stop) and apologizing to Shida, he thought it was best for the company to let Urbina go.

炎上しているスペイン語解説者の件ですが、マジでどうでもいいです。だって私は自分の人種に誇りを持ってるし、それをなに言われても「バカ言ってるなぁ」という感じで怒りすら湧きません。
