Lars Sullivan’s WWE career is over. The news comes from PW Insider, who claims that the 6’3″ SmackDown star was quietly released in January. No reason was given for the firing, but WWE did confirm that Sullivan is no longer with the company.
Sullivan’s WWE career was full of misfortune ranging from injuries and lengthy unexplained absences to being fined $100,00 and ordered to undergo sensitivity training for making racist posts prior to signing with the company. It also came out during his run that he had acted in a gay adult film, which certainly didn’t go with the company’s PG direction.
“There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago,” Sullivan said of his past racist and homophobic remarks. “They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended.”
Sullivan last wrestled on the October 23, 2020, edition of SmackDown, where he defeated Shorty G. He had just returned to SmackDown that month, having attacked several stars and squashing Jeff Hardy the week prior.
