Indie Event Canceled After Positive COVID-19 Case At The Collective

UPDATE: Wrestler Dan the Dad, who competed at Glory Pro’s Are Ya Wrestling, Son?, has confirmed he tested positive for COVID-19. He wrestled with Allie Kat against Danhausen, Effy, Air Wolf, and Angel Dorado.

Someone that attended Game Changer Wrestling’s The Collective last week has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, indie promotion St. Louis Anarchy is canceling its planned event on Friday and canceling the Spirit of Spaulding round robin tournament.

“This afternoon I learned of a positive COVID-19 test from someone that a great deal of our roster was around this past weekend,” the promotion announced on Twitter. “Due to that we will be doing the responsible thing and be postponing Fridays event. We also unfortunately will be ending the Spirit of Spaulding.

“Blocks as in these times it’s impossible to do them. We will run October 23rd as planned and then will be running Friday October 30th and Saturday November 7th. I’m as mad and frustrated as all of you, I’ll make good on all tickets bought. I will continue to be responsible.”

As noted in the announcement several St. Louis Anarchy wrestlers were at The Collective last weekend including Warhorse, Mat Fitchett, Gnarls Garvin, and AC Mack.

WrestleZone reached out to GCW for comment but has not heard back yet. If we do receive a statement, we will update the post with it.

Professional wrestler Allie Kat also confirmed that there was a positive test at The Collective and that wrestlers are being informed by said person.
