Tonight’s episode of NXT saw a very odd match occur, where Imperium, Legado del Fantasma, Undisputed Era, and Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan all sent one superstar to pair up with each other in a tag team match.
The match tonight saw Roderick Strong and Danny Burch team up against Fabian Aichner and Raul Mendoza, with the winning teams tag team groups advancing to next week. In a close match between the four superstars, it was Strong and Burch who came out on top, as Burch hit the Tower of London on Mendoza at the end of the match to secure the win. Now, both Undisputed Era and Burch & Lorcan will face off in a traditional tag team match next week, with the winner facing off against Breezango for the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT TakeOver.

Burch and Strong take an early advantage. Burch traps Mendoza in the corner and lands a few strikes. Mendoza flips out of Burch’s backbreaker attempt. Mendoza tries a leapfrog but Burch picks Mendoza’s leg out of the air. Burch goes up top. Mendoza grabs Burch’s foot and yanks him off the turnbuckle. Burch hits the mat hard. after the break, Mendoza and Achnier are taking turns working over Burch. Burch manages to tag in Strong. Strong clears the ring. Strong gets a near fall after an Olympic slam. Burch hits the Tower of London on Mendoza for the win.
