Kairi Sane isn’t going to be competing when WWE heads to Madison Square Garden next week for their post-Christmas live event.
PWInsider.com is reporting Sane was removed from the lineup for the December 26 event this afternoon due to not being cleared for physical activity. Sane was injured at WWE TLC on Sunday night; it’s believed that she suffered the injury during the opening minutes of the Women’s Tag Team Championship TLC match but no official diagnosis has been released.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reported Sane was checked out by doctors after the event but she wasn’t cleared to wrestle as of Monday night. Sane did appear on RAW this week in Asuka’s corner in her match against Deonna Purrazzo but didn’t get physical.
Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka inside a steel cage will now take place on the MSG event card; the original match featured The Kabuki Warriors versus Flair and Lynch inside the cage for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. According to PWInsider’s report, Sane has privately stated that she is fine but WWE is acting out of caution, in addition to her saying she was OK by giving a ‘thumbs up’ in a Twitter post.
