Wednesday’s episode of NXT ended in truly chaotic fashion, as Roderick Strong retained his NXT North American Championship in a triple threat match against Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic. However, the truly surprising action took place after, as rest of The Undisputed Era made their way to the ring, followed by Tommaso Ciampa.

As Ciampa entered the ring, he was soon joined by Johnny Gargano, who took a spot next to Ciampa in staring down The Undisputed Era. After that, Finn Balor made a surprise appearance, entering the ring and staring down the group along with Ciampa and Gargano. However, Balor quickly shocked the crowd by landing a vicious backwards kick to the head of Gargano. As Gargano dropped, The Undisputed Era quickly piled onto Ciampa as Balor watched.

With Ciampa getting assaulted, Balor simply stood by and watched, until he made his way out of the ring and continued to attack Gargano, dropping him onto the ramp outside of the ring. Afterwards, he simply stood as The Undisputed Era stood over the downed body of Ciampa. Needless to say, Balor’s sudden shift is a huge surprise, and how the NXT universe reacts will be interesting to see.
