WWE Signs Multi-Year Partnership With Leading Chinese Mobile Platform Qutoutiao

WWE announced on their website that they’ve entered into a deal with Qutoutiao, a leading Chinese mobile content platform. As part of the partnership, WWE will feature news and highlights from their programming on an official account on their service. Qutoutiao has been in existence for less than three years, but they’ve grown quickly, reaching 110 million active users on average.

Jay Li, Vice President and General Manager in Greater China of WWE, had this to say about the new deal. “Delivering our content to Qutoutiao’s key user base will be a major driving force for the continued development of the China market. It’s a win-win cooperation for both Qutoutiao and WWE.”

WWE has been slowly but steadily growing its outreach to the Chinese market as part of its overall global initiatives. WWE has run multiple tryouts in Chinese cities and has multiple Chinese stars on its NXT roster. WWE does not have a partnership with any local wrestling organizations, which is different from All Elite Wrestling and their working relationship with Oriental Wrestling Entertainment.
