Ken Resnick Talks Interviewing In 80s WWE, Today’s ‘Predictable’ Promos

Former WWE/WWF backstage interviewer Ken Resnick sat down with VOC Nation’s Wrestling With History this past week to talk about his experience holding the microphone for some of pro wrestling’s biggest names. He fondly remembers his time with WWE. “When I was there I was always treated wonderfully. I never had any issues, and I loved my time there. I think when you’re there, and they need you, it’s great. When they decide they don’t (need you) they have the tendency to forget your name.”

Ken also states that today’s promos are “predictable” compared to what he was doing back in the day. “You know what’s going to happen before it starts. When I was (in the WWF) we didn’t rehearse anything. I would sometimes do 75 interviews a day because they were town specific.” He also states that WWE doesn’t create “mega stars” like they used to. “They no longer want anyone to become larger than life, and in a lot of ways that is unfortunate.”
