In RAW’s main event last night, AJ Styles defeated United States Champion Ricochet in a non-title bout. Many were surprised by the defeat, as Ricochet just won the belt the day prior. On today’s Busted Open Radio episode, Mark Henry discussed Ricochet’s loss and why it’s actually a positive for the young performer.
“It was good to see him in a match with AJ Styles because it’s creating a history,” explained Henry. “He’ll be able to come back and wrestle AJ Styles again down the road and show that he’s improved. The places that he made mistakes, he’ll fixed them. He will have more of a following because of AJ and now I’m your equal. Right now, he’s not AJ’s equal, but he’ll be able to prove to AJ that he’s improved [later on]. That’s the Ricochet I’m excited to see.
