In an interview with the New York Post, Alexa Bliss expressed her significant worries after suffering multiple concussions over the last year. “I think after the second concussion I was very worried about not being able to get back in the ring, especially because I didn’t know what was going on with my brain.” She describes feeling lost because she didn’t know exactly what was wrong with her brain.
That feeling eventually subsided when she saw Dr. Michael Collins, a concussion expert and got the facts pinned down. “It made me feel like for the first time that I actually was in control of my own injury and actually well aware of what was going on in my brain and it made me feel so much better about returning to the ring because concussions are a scary thing.”
She also states that she got help from Daniel Bryan, another superstar who recovered from significant concussion damage recently. Bliss will be back in the ring vying for the Raw Women’s Championship against Bayley at Stomping Grounds this Sunday.
