On Randy Savage roughing up a doctor:
We were in Lake Placid, New York. The doctor walked in because he does the physicals and [Savage] wasn’t in the locker room. I guess Elizabeth was changing or something and Randy walked in. He snatched the doctor, put him up against the wall and slaps him a couple of times. Then he threw him out of the locker room. Randy had a temper around Liz.
“Macho Man” was tight with money:
He was so tight [with money]. We were in Newark, New Jersey, and we got there at about 3 in the morning. He refused to check into the hotel. So, him and Liz stayed out in the lobby to check in the next day at the right time. Here, we were all making a lot less money than “Macho Man,” but we all bought a room.
When they first came up to New York, he didn’t have a coat. Liz wanted to buy him a coat but he was waiting for either his birthday or Christmas. So, he froze for three weeks until he let Liz buy him a coat. He was famous for being tight.
Working in the ring with Randy:
He was great to work with. Every time we would tie up, he’d go, “Don’t shoot with me.” I like to wrestle a lot to start off the match since it says wrestling on the marquee. So, just the fact that he was a class act. One of the best hearts in the business. If he liked you then he liked you and if he didn’t then he certainly let you know. He didn’t pull any punches.
