Nick Aldis appeared at WrestleCade this weekend in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and had a chance to catch up with former NWA Worlds Champion Harley Race.
Aldis posted the following photo and shared some advice Race shared with him back in 2007:
#tenpoundsofgold with the living legend @8XNWAChampion Harley Race. At his camp in 2007 he said to me "you could do something kid." I've tried Harley. We'll keep trying. pic.twitter.com/wk9s68wq6j

Aldis defeated Jake Hager (fka Jack Swagger / Jake Strong) at WrestleCade’s Supershow this weekend to retain the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
During the weekend, DJ DELZ spoke with Aldis about his new #AldisHolidays contest that will see Nick and his wife, Mickie James, choose one person and pay for their travel expenses to see their family this holiday season:
This year, we’ve been fortunate enough where we spent Thanksgiving in the States with my wife’s family, and we’re going to go to England and spend Christmas with my family. We haven’t always been in a position to do that. I said the cost of plane tickets, travel, stuff like that, it probably prevents a lot of people from being with their families and close friends at the most important time of the year. I wanted to do something where I give more this year, so I spoke to my wife and said why don’t we do that? We’ve made it available for one person; tell us your story and tell us about your self and why you want to do it.
Let’s pick one person and take care of their round trip ticket for them.
It’s as simple as that. We don’t want anything out of it, we just want to put good energy out. We see so much negativity and so many wrestlers—the nature of our business, we ask so much from fans—we wanted to give them something. You can go to any of our [social media accounts] and just contact us. Use the hashtag #AldisHolidays. We’ve had some incredible stories already.
